The Border Singers is a chamber choir of about 30 voices, based in Whitchurch, Shropshire.  The choir performs a broad repertoire of both liturgical and secular music, giving concerts and recitals in and around Shropshire, North Wales, Staffordshire and Cheshire. We are always on the look out for keen singers who might join us at our rehearsals in Whitchurch on a Monday night.

The Choir's Music Director has been since 1996 Professor Simon Davies.  Simon has been active in the Staffordshire music scene for many years. He is an ex-chorister of King's College, Cambridge, where he was conducted by Sir David Willcocks. He also studied composition at Canterbury School with Alan Ridout. Simon has sung with a variety of choirs including The Taverner Choir under Andrew Parrot, Leeds Parish Church Choir under Simon Lindley and the Allegri Singers. He continues to study singing and to perform locally.

The Choir has a friendly ethos, believing that the best music making arises from the fun of the experience as well as simply good technique. We aim to learn as we enjoy our music, while striving for a high standard of musical performance.

We hope this site gives you a taste of the Border Singers and that you will want to experience our music either as a listener or as a member of the Choir. Please contact us for more information on bookings, ticket availability, front of house opportunities or vacancies in the choir.
